Open Call · Vol. 001

Send a signal.

We're always listening for artists who treat a record like a world. If that's you, producers, writers, visual artists, the lot, start here.

How it works

Three steps. No genre gate, no gatekeeping.

  1. What we listen for

    • Music that rewards the long listen. Records built to be sat with, not skipped through. If it unfolds over repeat plays, it belongs here.
    • A point of view. Sonic, visual, or both. We sign perspectives, not deliverables.
    • No genre gatekeeping. Lofi, indie, DnB, ambient, and the cracks between. If it has teeth, genre is a detail.
  2. What to send

    • Tracks & EPs
    • Mixes & long listens
    • Visual work
    • Collaborations

You don't need a following, a press kit, or a genre that fits neatly in a box. You need a point of view and a record built to be sat with. Send the music, the links, and whatever world you have built around it.

  3. What happens next

There's no submission algorithm here. A person listens to everything that comes in. If it fits one of the worlds, or starts a new one, we'll reach out.

Everything gets ears on it; if it fits, you hear from us.

Send it

Links, not files. Tell us who you are and where to listen.

Track, EP, mix or visuals, and its title

Leave empty if it is just you

Free, always. A person listens to every one. needed.

Downtown Music

OB5 is a Downtown Music label. Releases are distributed and administered through Downtown Music Holdings.

Oh Boy Five is small on purpose and open on purpose. We would rather sign one record that means something than fill a release calendar. So we keep the door open, and we actually listen to what comes through it.

Treat a record like a world.

We are listeners first. A demo, a finished EP, a long mix, a set of visuals, the start of something you cannot name yet. If it rewards attention, it belongs here.
